As an operating company of ECORYS Holding BV, ECORYS Nederland is part of a multidisciplinary group of European consultancy and research organizations. ECORYS Nederland is active in a wide range of sectors including environment and natural resources with an emphasis on sustainable water management. The company provides a broad range of services, such as applied economic research and advice, feasibility studies, institutional development, policy development, process, project and programme management, restructuring and privatization, technical assistance, transfer of knowledge and training. The Water Management Group combines spatial and economic expertise in the field of water and wetlands. The group has implemented various assignments related to the set-up and strengthening of institutions for integrated (and international) water policy and management as well as assignments concerning spatial issues of water management. The company will bring up to date expertise built upon active and successful involvement in the implementation of the WFD in Turkey, Latvia, Romania (all Senter projects), as well as in the planning and implementation of activities dealing with the economic components of the WFD in the Danube region and the Netherlands, and institutional support to the Sava River Basin Commission (Partners for Water). In the Netherlands for example ECORYS is currently commissioned by RIZA to prepare a WFD base-line scenario for the Scheldt River Basin District as well as with carrying out a "quick scan" of the economic cost and benefits of the implementation of the WFD in the same district. In Latvia it leads the technical assistance to implement the economic analysis of the WFD in the four Latvian river basin districts.
